Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Savings Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter
The beginning of last week was very busy, but I celebrated my birthday on Thursday and took the day off, which I haven't done in a long time. It felt sooo good ;-) I had the most amazing day, taking care of myself and receiving an unbelievable amount of love and support from my husband and my friends. I felt truly blessed! If that's an inclination of what my year ahead is going got look like, I am in for a treat. I can already tell from my Solar Return chart, that this will be a powerful year for me ;-)
This week's headline items: The Sun changes signs from Taurus to Gemini on Monday afternoon; a 13-hour Moon VOC starts on Wednesday early morning; the Moon will also be VoC for most of Friday; a very powerful Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse becomes exact Friday night/very early morning Saturday -- and on Sunday, we have another Moon VoC for most of the day.
Monday starts out with the Moon in detail-oriented, practical Virgo... and it's a big day!
A challenging Venus/Chiron aspect will be exact at 10:50am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Friday on, it will be strong until Wednesday. This aspect may block the full experience of intimacy. It asks us to stretch past injuries and insecurities in our relationships, self-worth and finances. If we can bring compassion and a different point of view to these issues, we will reach a new understanding of ourselves and our life journey.
We have the opportunity to learn from one another; ironically though, social insecurities can be magnified at this time. Whenever Chiron is involved, we are being asked to do some healing work. As best as you can, use this time to learn about your sore spots. Nobody is perfect: we all have our flaws and idiosyncrasies. It's ok.
If you get triggered by someone, as best as you can, take it as an opportunity to see where this trigger originated -- probably in your childhood. Bring love and compassion to yourself as you are… and as you were. Give permission for any feelings this may stir up in you: A feeling is just energy that wants to be experienced; it wants to move through us and out.
The more we resist our feelings, the more we hold them in place. As best as you can, move from the head to the heart. What if you gave 5% more compassion to yourself? To others? What if you just suddenly had faith in the healing process?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 10-16 degrees of Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius or Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).
After a brief Moon void of course (VoC) that ends at 1:07pm EDT, the Moon moves into relationship-oriented, harmony-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Wednesday afternoon. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships. During the Libra Moon, we tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.
We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this -- and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm. The Sun changes signs from steady, sensual Taurus to versatile, fast-thinking Gemini at 5:09pm EDT on Monday. It will journey through Gemini until June 21st. With the Sun in Gemini, the urge for self-expression is strong. We may be extra interested in collecting and sharing information. This is a time when curiosity and adaptability are favored. We are more flexible, changeable and adaptable -- which makes us quite social as well.
We enjoy intellectual conversations and we can easily become bored if we are not getting enough mental stimulation at this time. We are more objective and observant, but prefer to keep things light and easy. There is usually a nervousness in the air at this time as well, as we are constantly seeking to connect and have new interactions. Business is the name of the game.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Gemini Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Gemini, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo your vitality will most likely speed up and you feel more chatty than usual.
The next big aspect of the day: a Uranus/Pluto square that becomes exact at 7:02pm EDT. These outer planets move more slowly through the sky and their influence is very powerful. This square is the third in a sequence of seven; we started to feel the approach towards the first square already back in Spring of 2011, the last exact square will be in 2015.
As these two planets move through this sequence, the energy rises and falls like a slow-moving, powerful tide that reaches a high point as the square becomes exact, then slowly subsides. All seven of these squares are connected to our personal and collective evolution towards greater freedom and authenticity -- and also our ability to create something that serves ourselves and others over the long-term. This particular wave has been building since March; we will feel it until year's end.
Each time Uranus and Pluto connect in the next three years, the stakes will get higher, especially if we haven't yet stepped up to the plate. It's about progressive change: each of us stepping up, stretching ourselves, making a difference, one by one. Are you still watching from the sidelines? Where could you play a bigger game?
We feel a deep inner need to create personal and global change. We see and sense shifts in the world at large. Authenticity and individual self-expression are paramount. The meaning of "Leadership" is changing, in that we all need to lead now, in our own lives and for the higher good of all. We are being ask to follow our passions and empower ourselves and others as much as possible. Again: Each one of us is being asked to stretch ourselves, to step up and play a bigger game. Where are you being called to step up?
If you are scared to let go of the "old you" or the "old way of life", you are going to feel the intensity of these squares triplefold. As best as you can, keep your heart wide open and look to see what you want to create for yourself and this planet. Flexibility, Courage, Self-Empowerment: these are the watchwords! Remember: what you do for you, you do for everyone… and what you do for everyone, you do for you!
Those of us who have their Ascendent (or personal planets) in 9-12 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn will feel the impact of this aspect more than others. Also: Pluto and Uranus were aligned in Virgo during the 1960s. If you were born during the '60s, you are being called to take a more active part in creating these shifts and changes -- at both the personal and collective levels. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio or Aquarius (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius).
An opportune Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 11:46pm EDT on Monday. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday on; it will be strong untilWednesday morning. This brings an opportunity for insight and novelty. We might have some really unusual conversations. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us; we have to realize it.
This aspect also brings an opportunity to see things from a different perspective, or put a new spin on our "old" thinking. We like to connect in unusual ways and any group activities or brainstorming with like-minded people could generate amazing insights: This might be a busy day. As best as you can -- and as much as you want to -- stay open to other dimensions ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-14 degrees of Aquarius, Aries, Sagittarius or Gemini? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and Gemini; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Tuesday: the Moon remains in relationship-oriented, harmony-loving Libra all day (see Monday for details). In the morning the Moon squares Pluto and opposes Uranus; as best as you can, focus on self-care. If you feel stressed from the pervious day or night, allow yourself to sleep in or pamper yourself with in small ways throughout the day; even if it's just by being kind and loving with yourself ;-)
Tuesday at 8:41am EDT, we experience an energetic alignment between Neptune and Pluto. This brings a gentler approach to any deep emotional issue. We are more ready to let go of the past, especially emotional issues that felt disempowering to us.
Tuesday night/Wednesday very early in the morning, a challenging Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 2:49am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Thursday. This combination might bring up some insecurities in our verbal, in-person or email interactions.
That said, this could also be an opportunity for healing; we are energized to move past harsh criticism of ourselves or others, towards more loving and compassionate structures for thinking and communicating. As best as you can, stretch yourself -- and be open to bringing love and understanding to it all (and that includes you) :-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point or any personal planets in 10-16 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo or Gemini? If so, you are more affected by this aspect.
Wednesday starts with a 13-hour Moon void of course (VoC); from 3:35am until 4:55pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to connect to others and create allegiances that help you expand your horizons. Plan your day ahead of time, and as always with a Moon VoC, go with the flow and stick to routine things (…if possible).
Wednesday at 4:55pm EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Friday afternoon. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time.
As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to. Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers us and others.
Thursday, the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (seeWednesday for details).
Friday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 5:49pm EDT (see Wednesday for details).
Friday at 9:55am EDT the Moon goes void of course (VoC) for almost 8 hours. As best as you can, find a balance between your emotional need to connect and bond on an intimate level and your desire to remain safe and stable with your own boundaries. Plan your day ahead of time, and as always with a Moon VoC, go with the flow and stick to routine things (…if possible).
Friday at 5:49pm EDT: the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Sunday afternoon. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner. We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now". We pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is the key -- we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate. This starts the build up towards this month's powerful Full Moon, which is also a Lunar Eclipse and a SuperMoon and will be exact Friday night/Saturday very early in the morning (I will return to this topic shortly).
Friday, exact at 7:54pm EDT, Mercury aligns with Venus in Gemini. We will feel this alignment Monday of this week through Thursday of next week. This is a beautiful connection between the mind and the heart. We appreciate love and beauty during this time and are happy to share it with others. Connecting to anything beautiful or artistic comes naturally at this time. We love to share ourselves with others, especially in harmonious, heartfelt ways.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 17-22 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus rules Taurus and Libra). Friday night/Saturday very early in the morning at 12:25am EDT, the Moon in adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius opposes the Sun in curious, fast-thinking Gemini. This powerful Full Moon is not only the last Lunar Eclipse in a cycle of several Eclipses in Gemini/Sagittarius since June of 2011... it is also a "SuperMoon", which intensifies electromagnetic shifts and affects our perception of reality.
The theme of this Full Moon is "the power of the mind vs. the power of belief". Mercury aligns with Venus and Jupiter in Gemini, which brings a communion of the head and heart, as well as a sense that information is not necessarily identical with knowledge or wisdom.
Neptune makes a square to the Eclipse: we need to stretch and grow, realizing that all is one and that intuition can be our guide -- wherever we are and whatever we experience. Knowing and sensing with the heart is very powerful; thinking and understanding with our mind only cuts us off from a vast resource. Through intuition, we are tapping into the knowingness of the whole Universe: What could be more powerful than that?
If we remember that being of service to others -- to the world -- is our greatest gift to humanity, we can find peace and happiness from within. As best as you can, come from "beginner's mind", trust what you feel and intuit; and look for what's true right here, right now. For more details on this powerful Full Moon click here and watch my video on the subject
Saturday: the Moon remains in optimistic, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (seeFriday for details).
Sunday starts with an 11-hour Moon void of course (VoC); from 6:22am until 5:28pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to find a balance between two desires: firstly, your need for adventure, exploration (and ultimately seeing the bigger picture) -- and secondly, your desire for connection with others -- particularly your need to share your truth by getting as much detailed information out to others as possible. As best as you can, plan this day ahead of time, or simply go with the flow. Watch out that you aren't overdoing things ;-)
Sunday: the Moon remains in optimistic, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 5:28pm EDT (see Friday for details). At that time, the Moon will move into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Tuesday next week. The energy of the Capricorn Moon concerns our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success -- achievement and manifestation are paramount. We are resourceful and economical with time, energy, and other assets.
We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn and look. reality in the eye. This can also be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-) With Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) transiting through Scorpio right now, this is a great day to face our fears. It's also a great time to go deeper on an emotional/intimate level with ourselves and others. As best as you can, be authentic about who you are and what you feel passionate about.
Also on Sunday: a challenging Sun/Neptune aspect is exact at 6:26am EDT. It's asking us to stretch and grow: On the one hand we want to use our mind to feel confident and centered, on the other hand, we are compelled to listen to our intuition and let our imagination go wild. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesdayon, it will be strong until Wednesday of next week.
Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits might be better than focusing on things that require straightforward, factual thinking today. We might feel confused; it might be a challenge to know where we stand with others. As best as you can, avoid things like scheduling surgery, important appointments, job interviews, or launches of new projects at this time (unless they are spiritual or artistic in nature). Compassion toward ourselves works best for this time period.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 2-8 degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules Leo).
A head's up for Monday: Nice and early in the morning, at 3:16am EDT, a somewhat challenging Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect fromSaturday on; it will be strong until early Tuesday. This is an aspect we feel on an internal level: we feel uneasy about something and we need to make a choice. We may take on responsibilities that aren't ours -- and ignore the ones that are. We work hard and aren't always recognized or compensated as we'd like; we therefore sometimes run out of steam before our work is done. Our life works best when we learn to take care of our most important responsibilities first. When in doubt, keep choosing the "better" alternative and make adjustments as necessary.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5-7 degrees of Gemini or Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)
A Mercury/Jupiter alignment will be exact at 3:56am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on, it will be strong until Wednesday of next week. This alignment brings optimism and a tendency to talk and think quite a bit. This connection also favors short trips, writing, teaching, studying, submitting applications and forms, test taking, and making diagnoses and observations. We more readily exercise good judgment, take a more philosophical approach to thinking, and are more open to learning.
This alignment also gives us a sense of mental expansion. We are getting a chance to see our world from a place of constant adventure and personal growth. We are optimistic, which can help us attract positive circumstances -- this is a good time to submit ideas, applications, and so forth. This is a time of grand-scale thinking and long-range planning. How can we expand our ideas about ourselves, so we can be consistent in our lives and manifest what we want?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly.
Have a fantastic week! As best as you can, spread your wings and allow for life to be a moment to moment experience. Many blessings, Sonja

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Savings Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter
Last week was full of surprises and lessons for me -- and I shed a lot of "old" behaviors. Compassion was key! Reminding myself of one of my "New Years Intentions" was helpful: "I forgive myself whenever I can and as often as I can". All of course due to last week's Solar Eclipse
This week's headline items: a 10-hour Moon VoC, starting Wednesday morning; Mercury changing signs from Taurus to Gemini on Wednesday afternoon; Mars moving over the Solar Eclipse degree (from last week's Eclipse) on Thursday evening; and Friday night/Sat. early morning, the first Quarter Moon in Leo becomes exact.
On Monday at 5:57am EDT, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will remain until Wednesday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us -- so be kind to yourself and others. Emotional safety is important to us at this time; we like connecting to the familiar -- home or family is our sanctuary. Nurture yourself and others, but remember: make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it ;-)
A challenging Venus/Neptune aspect will be exact on Monday at 4:47pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last week Friday on, it will be strong until Wednesday. We can be confused, unrealistic, or overly idealistic around love and money -- so it's best to wait until the transit is over, before making big moves in these areas -- if you make long-term financial investments, buy or sell big-ticket items, or start brand-new relationships, it's likely you will not see things as they truly are.
We are actually being asked to have faith; to let our intuition guide us in money and love -- if we are able to do this, we will grow through it. As best as you can, be compassionate with yourself and others during these 6 days -- it might also help to know that relationships and endeavors of a spiritual or artistic nature can move forward at this time.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 2-8 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).
Tuesday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Monday for more details).
The Moon squares Uranus in the early morning hours and then opposes Pluto. Given that Uranus is the planet associated with awakening to a new level of consciousness, and Pluto is associated with deep emotional transformation, we may have had a restless night and woken up a little cranky. As best as you can, be good to yourself -- if you can, take a nap in the afternoon -- and allow others to support you today. As always with a "T-square", awareness and compassion are key! As best as you can, find creative solutions ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-12 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this T-square more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio or Aquarius(Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio, Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Wednesday starts with a 10-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts from 8:14am until 6:38pm EDT. We can use this intuitive time as an opportunity to bring awareness to our feelings and our body. How can you nurture yourself and your body today? As with all Moon VoCs, do not start anything brand-new: stick to routine things, or go with the flow... 'cos the flow knows where to go ;-)
A somewhat challenging Venus/Saturn aspect, is exact at 2:54pm EDT on Wednesday. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Thursday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting. It's hard now to see what we are actually responsible for in relationships; consequently, we take on unnecessary responsibilities to ensure they continue. We may ask ourselves: "Do people like me for myself, or for what I do for them?" If you're confused on this point (or any point): as best as you can, keep choosing the "better" alternative, adjusting as necessary.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5 - 9 degrees of Gemini or Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)
Wednesday at 4:41pm EDT, Mercury changes signs from steady, slow-paced Taurus to curious, quick-witted Gemini, where it will journey until May 31st. For the next two weeks, our thinking shifts gears: Mercury -- the energy of communication -- will pick up the pace of our lives just a little. Our mental exchanges and abilities are going to have priority for the next two weeks: talking, writing, keeping a finger on the pulse of all that's happening ... This is a time of study and learning, a cycle of mental challenge, curiosity, and social/intellectual growth.
Make sure you don't exhaust yourself during this time. As best as you can, keep taking breaks and let yourself see the larger picture now and again. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel the pick up in pace more strongly.
Wednesday at 6:38pm EDT, the Moon moves into fun-loving, attention-seeking Leo, where it will journey until Saturday morning. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)
Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?
This Moon placement also starts the build towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Friday night/Saturday very early morning). This means that for the next couple of days, we are going to feel an urge to get things going; we may even feel some pressure to find a way to achieve this without losing our footing ;-) As best as you can, look for creative solutions, remain flexible and be kind to yourself ;-) Thursday: the Moon remains in fun-loving, attention-seeking Leo all day (see Wednesday for details).
At 4:54am EDT on Thursday, an energetic opposition between Jupiter and Saturn will be exact. This asks us to find a balance between indulging ourselves, versus cutting ourselves off from all joy. How can you balance "seriousness" and your long-term goals with having fun, expanding your mind and exploring life?
Thursday at 7pm EDT, Mars moves over the Solar Eclipse degree (19 degrees of Taurus). This will trigger last week's Eclipse. Whatever comes up this evening in connection to career, work or personal projects, will need to be addressed over the next 5.5 months.
The key is to bring awareness to two areas: first, what is out of alignment with our Soul's journey and needs to be released? Second: what do we need to receive, so that we can connect more fully to our gifts and talents? What are you experiencing this evening that doesn't serve you any longer? This goes especially for those attachments we cling to purely out of longing for material safety.
Friday: the Moon remains in fun-loving, attention-seeking Leo all day (see Wednesday for details).
Friday night/Saturday very early in the morning at 12:34am EDT, the first Quarter Moon becomes exact in 27 degrees of Leo.We start to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon enters Leo on Wednesday late afternoon. The Moon in attention-craving, heartfelt Leo makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in steady, peaceful, comfort-oriented Taurus.
We feel compelled to take action. Last week saw the New Moon/Solar Eclipse (May 9th); if we began a project or initiative around then, it is probably off the ground by now -- and facing its first obstacles. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy. As best as you can, take it one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible and find creative solutions in your day-to-day interactions with others.
Is there anything that needs to be faced (or readjusted) in your life, especially in the following areas: physical pleasures and comforts, material security, attachments of any kind, self-worth, finances, receiving love, fun, self-expression, creativity, play-time, joy, attention, and competitiveness? How could we take care of our "inner child" and our financial needs? What if we tried to bring fun and joy to ourselves and others, while watching out for our physical needs and comforts?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 24 - 29 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
What a big day! Saturday very early in the morningstarts with a5-hour Moon void of course (VoC), from 12:35am until 5:33am EDT. If you are not sleeping during this time, use this period to find creative solutions -- in regards to your inner joy and your financial needs -- by tapping into your intuition.
Also on Saturday very early in the morning: a challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 3:19am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will remain strong until this Sunday. We all have assumptions and preconceived notions about others, the world and life; we are asked to stretch a little around these assumptions.
We might find it hard to follow directions and instructions at this time. Difficulties concentrating on hard, cold facts are likely; in fact, we may question facts altogether, or avoid getting pinned down on answers. As you can imagine, this is not the best time for signing any contracts. Perceptions can be confused, unrealistic, or too idealistic to carry weight in the real world; conversations may be vague.
As best as you can, during these 5 days, follow your heart -- and let yourself be guided by your artistic or spiritual side. If you can, put off hard decisions until next week… and be compassionate with yourself and others .
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 2-8 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius or Virgo? If so, all of the above will be even truer for you.
At 5:33am EDT on Saturday, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Monday of next week. This turns our focus toward practical activities -- reorganizing and rethinking our plans, perhaps. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all of these bring emotional satisfaction.
Health matters might come into focus. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to look at our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), to see if they are in alignment with our long-term goals.
Saturday: an opportune Venus/Uranus aspect will be exact at 12:40pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday on; it will be strong until Monday of next week. This gives us the opportunity to experiment with how we relate to others -- to do something different or unusual -- freedom plays a big part in this aspect. Of course, others are experimenting too, so you might experience some unusual or unexpected interactions during this time -- it's a favorable time for social meetings and events.. As best as you can, stay open and flexible: fresh air is blowing through your relationships.
We're also ready to experiment with our financial undertakings. Energetic matches with this aspect would be: all things "tech" (electronics, technology, internet); metaphysics; the arts; group activities. This is not the best time to make long-term financial investments, unless you had an intuition ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-14 degrees of Aries, Gemini, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Venus's movements and aspects)
A somewhat challenging Venus/Pluto aspect is exact at 3:16pm EDT on Saturday. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on; it will be strong until Sunday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
Fear of disappointment and of others is causing some tension. Our inner need for growth requires us to be honest about what is causing our fears -- most likely our lack of good boundaries and self-esteem. We easily might get pulled into overly burdensome roles in other people's lives, because we feel it is required of us. Careful examination of our routines and how we feel about ourselves is necessary, if we are to free our ability to love, develop and grow. This creates a deep inner healing.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9 - 12 degrees of Gemini or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)
Last but not least on Saturday, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Saturn aspect will be exact at 7:33pm EDT.This will contribute either to a lack of mental energy or a need to focus on our commitments with others. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will be strong until Sunday. This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice.
The sheer scope of our goals in life can require more effort than is immediately obvious. Hard work can take its toll on our health. If we partition our big ideas into achievable segments -- and go one clear action step at a time -- we can move forward while maintaining inner peace and outer health. Use your time wisely! Develop the inner awareness needed, so you can see what needs adjusting.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5 - 9 degrees of Gemini or Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Sunday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Saturday for details).
A Big head's up for next Monday (lots of aspects becoming exact): A challenging Venus/Chiron aspect will be exact at 10:50am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on, it will be strong until Wednesday of next week.
After a 20-minute Moon void of course (VoC) that ends at 1:07pm EDT, we start moving towards the next big aspect of the day: another Uranus/Pluto square that becomes exact at 7:02pm EDT.
The outer planets move more slowly through the sky and their influence is very powerful. This square is the third in a sequence of seven; we started to feel the approach towards the first square already back in Spring of 2011, the last exact square will be in 2015. As these two planets move through this sequence, the energy rises and falls like a slow-moving, powerful tide -- the tide reaches a high point as the square becomes exact, then slowly subsides. All seven are connected to our personal and collective evolution, towards greater freedom, authenticity -- and ability to create something that serves ourselves and others long-term. This particular member of the sequence has been building since March; we will feel it until year's end.
Each time Uranus and Pluto connect in the next three years, the stakes will get higher, especially if we haven't yet stepped up to the plate. It's about progressive change -- each of us stepping up, stretching ourselves, making a difference -- one by one.
Each one of us is being asked to stretch ourselves, to step up and play a bigger game.
Last but not least for next Monday: an opportune Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 11:46pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Saturday evening on, it will be strong until Wednesday morning of next week. This brings an opportunity for insight and novelty. We might experience some really unusual conversations. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us; we have to realize it.
This aspect also brings an opportunity to see things from a different perspective, or to put a new spin on our "old" thinking structure. We like to connect in unusual ways and any group activities or brainstorming with like-minded people could generate amazing insights -- this might be a busy day.
Have a fantastic week! As best as you can, keep your heart wide open: Allow for the energies to flow through you and with you ;-) Many blessings, Sonja

Last week was a big adventure. I finalized my new webinar ("Intro to Soul-Based Astrology") -- and on Saturday I shared it with 11 really wonderful individuals. It was a really great experience. If you couldn't make it live, I highly recommend watching the recording before May 8th ;-) (hint: there's a reason I mention May 8th). The webinar recording is available for purchase on my website for only $15: www.AstrologerCoach.com/online-courses.html
This week's headline items: Three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases, each 20 hours or more, respectively starting on Tuesday morning, Thursday evening and Sunday morning; Venus will change signs from Taurus to Gemini on Thursday morning; we have a very powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse on Thursday evening; and finally, Mercury moves over the Solar Eclipse degree on Friday evening. We will also talk about setting some powerful intentions for the next six months :-)
Mercury, the planet of communication and processing information, is quit active this week, getting activated by a lot of different planets. Depending on the aspect, our minds may be a little restless, or focused on "figuring out" urgent problems and issues.
Monday: As of last night (Sunday), the Moon was in pioneering, fast-paced Aries; it will stay in that sign all day today and tomorrow -- until Wednesday morning, in fact. The energy of the Aries Moon bears on starting something new. Our gut impulses are strong; we feel energetic, spontaneous, enthusiastic and brave -- and perhaps impatient and impulsive. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity. When the Moon entered Aries on Sunday evening, we also entered the Balsamic Moon phase. This lasts until Thursday, when the New Moon becomes exact (also a Solar Eclipse). We are being asked to slow down, get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition. For many of us, this will be a stretch, as we want to do just the opposite: jump the gun, get started with something new, act impulsively, etc. This is quite common right before a Solar Eclipse, especially with the Moon in impulsive Aries, right before the Eclipse. As best as you can, stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions.
Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing things. This is also a great time for letting go of the things that no longer serve us. The Solar Eclipse is all about endings and new beginnings. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Think back to last November -- the time of the last Solar Eclipse. What did you start around then? How could you complete it? On Monday in the late afternoon the Moon will align with Uranus in Aries -- and both of them square Pluto in Capricorn.
Uranus is associated with deep emotional transformation: This is another opportunity for growth. Awareness and flexibility are key, especially if you are feeling restless and uncomfortable; channel any nervous mental or physical energy into some kind of exercise -- or go for a walk while brainstorming with a friend ;-) As best as you can, find creative solutions to any issues between "the inner teenager" and "the inner adult" ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Aries, Libra or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this aspect more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio, Cancer or Aquarius (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio, the Moon is the ruler of Cancer and Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Monday night/Tuesday early morning: a harmonious aspect between Mercury and Pluto becomes exact at 2:24am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from last Sunday on; it will be strong until this Wednesday. Our words and our "speaking" are very grounded and realistic. We can feel really empowered by what we say (and how we say it) during this time. Our conviction and passion helps us to connect and empower others.
We are strongly connected to our inner truth and can analyze and understand our motivations toward long-term goals. We investigate our own beliefs about the meaning of life in a very realistic way and look to see what needs to be done next.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-14 degrees of Taurus or Capricorn ? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo, Pluto rules Scorpio)
Another aspect becomes exact in the very early morning hours of Tuesday morning: The Sun aligns with the Moon's South Node in Taurus and opposes the Moon's North Node in Scorpio. We started feeling this aspect build from last Friday on; and it will be strong until this Thursday. This combination invites us to bring awareness to our values and how they serve us. We need to recognize where we are holding on to things that are no longer of value to us; we must find ways to align our values with our deepest passions.
We also need to recognize that our relationships need us to trust and share ourselves fully and intimately. As best as you can, let go of the idea that unchangeability creates actual safety or constant stability; empower yourself from within instead, so you can face whatever life hands you with ease.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-20 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio or Aquarius ? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules Leo)
Tuesday: the Moon remains in enthusiastic, fast-paced Aries all day (see Monday for details).
At 8:40am EDT on Tuesday, the first of the week's three long Moon void of course (VoC) phases begins. This first one lasts 22.5 hours, until 6:09am EDT Wednesday. As best as you can, plan your day ahead of time and take it easy in the morning... These 22.5 hours are an opportunity to expand our thinking and learn something new. We are also inclined to have some fun today and not take life so seriously. As always, with Moon VoC: go with the flow ;-)
Also on Tuesday, Mercury aligns with Mars in Taurus. This aspect will become exact at 8:33pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Monday on; and it will be strong until Thursday. This alignment might speed up our thinking, but probably not a tremendous amount, as both of these planets meet in Taurus -- a sign that doesn't like to be rushed.
We are curious, enthusiastic and energetic in our communications, especially those concerning the good things in life: nature, food, money, beautiful and practical things, beautiful voices, massage -- you get the idea ;-) We excel at getting to the heart of a subject.
Something to be aware of: we may take things a little too personally, and our defensiveness could make it challenging for others to engage in a healthy dialogue with us. During disagreements, we may get stubborn and dig our heels in: As best as you can, come from the heart and love yourself as much as the people you value -- and take a deep breath now and then.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Aquarius or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries).
Last but not least: Mercury makes an opportune aspect to Chiron today (Tuesday). Though this aspect becomes exact at 9:45pm EDT, but we started feeling it build from Monday on -- and it will be strong until Thursday. We have an opportunity to bring healing energy to our concrete mind and to our thoughts. We also have a chance to heal insecurities in our verbal, in-person, or email interactions. We are able to move past harsh criticism of ourselves or others, towards more loving and compassionate structures for thinking and communicating.
By bringing love and understanding to our thinking processes, we have a chance to move beyond entrenched habits -- like pushing ourselves really hard, or thinking pessimistically. What was your family's attitude towards financial security -- or stability in general? How can you take a gentler approach to your inner dialog now? Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).
Tuesday night/very early Wednesday morning: an opportune aspect between Mars and Chiron becomes exact at 12:08am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from last Friday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. This is an opportunity to accept the validity of our anger and desires, so that we can learn to express these energies naturally and confidently.
This could also inspire us to make resolutions and take actions towards healing our emotional and spiritual wounds. Remember: this is an "opportunity": those aren't necessarily handed to us, we have to make them happen.
Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 2-9 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries (Mars rules Aries).
Wednesday at 6:09am EDT, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will be until Friday afternoon. With the Moon in Taurus, we are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: life… slows… down. We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best as you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)
This also begins the buildup toward Thursday evening's New Moon/Solar Eclipse. This is a good time to slow things down and go within. We sometimes feel anxious about our accomplishments right before a New Moon; this is especially true when it is also a Solar Eclipse. As best as you can, stay grounded. Take a deep breath and connect to your inner wisdom: The Eclipse brings a consciousness upgrade -- and you probably want to be online to get the upgrade :-)
Thursday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Wednesday for details).
Thursday at 11:03am EDT, Venus changes signs from steady, calm, sensual Taurus to chatty, social, versatile Gemini. Venus will journey through Gemini until June 2nd. For the next three and a half weeks, we value mental stimulation and frequent changes of scenery in our love relationships. We love to connect to others and share ourselves. As long as we don't feel bored we will stick around -- but as soon as we disengage mentally, we begin to thirst for interesting conversations with new people, in new places or situations.
Our finances might fluctuate at this time, as we don't invest in anything for long enough to know whether it would have actually made a profit. That said, this sign-change actually favors those financial transactions that benefit from speed -- or from our dispersing resources widely ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more chatty for the next 3.5 weeks. Your heart will want to connect to friends and have several activities going all at once. Learning or teaching something new might be just the thing for you to do right now. If you are a Gemini Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you are going to have more love and beauty in your life for as long as Venus is in your sign
Thursday: exact at 2:45pm EDT, Mercury aligns with the Moon's South Node in Taurus and opposes the Moon's North Node in Scorpio. We started feeling this aspect build from Tuesday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. This combination asks that we release any outdated thinking patterns or conditioning -- so we need to be aware of what these "old" conditionings are.
We are being asked to be present to what others have to say. We are now ready to listen from a different, deeper place -- one that brings us closer to others and deepens our connection to what empowers us. Allow for new ways of communicating to unfold. As best as you can, be open to receiving the lessons and information you need, in order to move towards greater fulfillment with others and yourself.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-20 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius ? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo)
On Thursday at 8:28pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 19 degrees of Taurus. This is the beginning of both a new Moon cycle and a new Eclipse cycle. Eclipses take place approximately every five-and-a-half to six months. The Solar Eclipse will bring a consciousness upgrade and a shift that will unfold over the next five-and-a-half months. Feel free to watch my video on the subject (will be posted on Tuesday) ;-)
This powerful New Moon is also a Solar Eclipse; as such the Sun and Moon are also connected to one of the Moon Nodes -- in this case the Moon's South Node. South Node Eclipses help us release blocks to personal and planetary evolution caused by the accumulation of negative thought forms and imprints.
With so many planets in Taurus, we are powerfully reminded to take the time to honor the Earth, the planet we live on -- its resources and beauty. Pluto's connection to Mars and the South Node sends a message about empowering ourselves and transforming anything that is no longer congruent with our long-term-goals. As best as you can, allow for the Sun to shine within you.
We are invited to look at our attachments: which ones could we release over the next 5 months or so, to make room for something more authentic and more in alignment with our Soul's journey? Venus (the ruler of Taurus) moves into Gemini, just a couple of hours before the Eclipse becomes exact: we open to talking about our processes and become more flexible and able to adjust to all the changes that are coming in the next 5.5 months ;-)
Later in this forecast, I will talk about setting some powerful intentions for the next six months -- and give you the very best times for doing so :-) For now though, ask yourself: What am I holding on to, that no longer serves me? Where are my attachments that give me a sense of safety and security? Are these attachments holding me back from becoming more authentically connected with my passions and my Soul Purpose? What if I let go of being attached, just as best as I can, and just for right now -- just to see what would happen? ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 17-21 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this extra-powerful New Moon more strongly for the next 6 months.
Lastly on Thursday, at 8:28pm EDT, we enter an 21-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts until 5:21pm EDT Friday. Use this intuitive time to be still. Connect to your body's wisdom -- pamper yourself. Allow "what is", letting yourself and others "be". As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow.
Friday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus and is VoC until 5:21pm EDT (see Wednesday and Thursday for details), at which time the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini (where it will journey until Monday morning). The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy, whether online, on the phone, or face-to-face. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life; as long as we don't get bored, we're good.
Friday at 9:15pm EDT: Mercury moves over the Solar Eclipse degree (19 degrees of Taurus). This will trigger some communication issues or thought patterns that will need to be addressed within the next 5.5 months. The key here, is to create awareness of two things: first, what is out of alignment with our Soul's journey and needs to be released? Second: what do we need to receive, so that we can connect more fully to our gifts and talents? What are you experiencing this evening that doesn't serve you any longer?
Saturday: the Moon remains in lively, curious Gemini all day (see Friday for details).
A Sun/Mercury alignment in Taurus becomes exact on Saturday at 5:10pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Wednesday on; it will be strong until Tuesday of next week. This aspect indicates a confident mind and an analytical approach to life. Intelligence and communication abilities are strong at this time; however, we may not listen as well as the other speaks -- we might be too busy thinking about what to say next.
In general, we have a strong need to take an active role in communications -- it is very hard for us to passively listen and absorb information right now. What we say or write now has impact, so as best as you can, choose your words wisely. If people hung on your every word, what would you say then? What would you hold back from saying?
Our opinions are usually strong during this time; we like to think independently and are proud of our opinions and our thoughts. For this reason, our egos might get bruised if we are not "heard" -- if our opinions are pushed aside, ignored or criticized. As best as you can, express yourself fully, knowing that others may have different opinions… and that's ok.
We may be particularly stubborn during this time… it may not always be of service to us to dig our heals in: choose your battles wisely.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio or Aquarius? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo, Gemini or Virgo (the Sun rules Leo; Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo)
The best time to set our intentions for this Eclipse cycle is between 8:25pm EDT Saturday and Sunday at 9:32am EDT. Remember the Eclipse cycle lasts until the next Solar Eclipse in November, so set some powerful intentions that run for the next 5.5 months ;-) Sunday: the Moon remains in lively, curious Gemini all day (see Friday for details).
Sunday also starts with a 20.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts from 9:32am until 5:57am EDT Monday morning. Use this intuitive time to communicate your feelings, whether to friend or stranger. Make meaningful connections that feel good to you ;-) As with all Moon VoCs, do not start anything brand-new: stick to routine things, or go with the flow... 'cos the flow knows where to go ;-)
Lastly on Sunday: Mars aligns with the Moon's South Node in Taurus and opposes the Moon's North Node in Scorpio. We started feeling this aspect build from Wednesday on; and it will be strong until next Thursday. This combination asks us to release physical occurrences or memories from our past that no longer serve us -- anything we experienced in the past that is not of value to us anymore. In order to do this, we need to be aware of what those experiences were.
We are being asked to release any masculine principles inside of us that no longer work. We are now ready to move towards a deeper experience that brings us closer to others and connects us more fully to the empowering. Allow for new ways of "doing" things. As best as you can, be open to receiving your body's messages, so you can move towards greater fulfillment with others and yourself.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-20 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius ? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries (Mars rules Aries)
A head's up for Monday: A challenging Venus/Neptune aspect will be exact at 4:47pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on, it will be strong until Wednesday of next week.
Have a fantastic week! Stay as open as possible, so you can receive your new upgrade ;-)Many blessings, Sonja
